The National Park is a malaria-free zone and was established in 1979. Located in the North West province of South Africa. Adjacent to Sun City Resort the park is encircled by four beautiful rings of hills that were the result of a 1.2-billion-year-old volcanic crater. At 55 000 hectares, Pilanesberg is the fourth largest national park in the country and home to a number of game species including Africa’s Big animals and more than 365 bird species.
Day 1
6:30 Pick up from hotel or residence in
Johannesburg or Pretoria in a comfortable and
air-conditioned vehicle.
8:30-9:00 Arrive in Pilanesberg and begin the
game drive in a closed vehicle.
11:30 Check-in at the lodge (lunch at
guest’s own cost)
16:00 Sunset game drive in open (4×4) vehicle
for 3 hours in search of mostly the wild cats.
This drive is conducted by park rangers.
19:30 Dinner time after a game drive and overnight.
Day 2
7:30 Wake up to a nutritious, much-needed
breakfast.
8:30 Checkout and go for the last game
drive in the park conducted by a qualified
and experienced guide in a closed vehicle
for 3 to 4 hours before travelling back
to your preferred hotel or residence in
Johannesburg or Pretoria.
